Representative Rasmussen rose to a point of order regarding confining remarks to the amendment before the body. The Speaker cautioned all members to confine remarks to the amendment. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 63 be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: CSSSHB 39(FIN) am Second Reading Amendment No. 63 YEAS: 7 NAYS: 31 EXCUSED: 2 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Carpenter, Eastman, Johnson, Pruitt, Sullivan-Leonard, Tilton, Vance Nays: Claman, Drummond, Edgmon, Fields, Foster, Hannan, Hopkins, Jackson, Johnston, Josephson, Knopp, Kopp, Kreiss-Tomkins, LeBon, LeDoux, Merrick, Ortiz, Rasmussen, Rauscher, Revak, Shaw, Spohnholz, Story, Stutes, Talerico, Tarr, Thompson, Tuck, Wilson, Wool, Zulkosky Excused: Lincoln, Neuman Rauscher changed from "Yea" to "Nay". And so, Amendment No. 63 was not adopted. Amendment No. 64 was offered by Representative Eastman: Page 35, following line 30: Insert new material to read: "It is the intent of the legislature that, going forward, the Alaska Marine Highway System be subsidized to the same degree, per passenger mile traveled, that highways are subsidized by the state." Representative Eastman moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 64 be adopted. Representative Wool objected.
