Full Journal pdf2018-04-15 Senate Journal Page 2730 SB 102 SENATE BILL NO. 102 "An Act relating to funding for Internet services for school districts; and relating to the Alaska higher education investment fund" which had been held in third reading to the April 15 calendar (page 2684), was before the Senate in third reading. 2018-04-15 Senate Journal Page 2731 Senator MacKinnon moved and asked unanimous consent the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator MacKinnon moved and asked unanimous consent the following fiscal information be adopted in lieu of the previously published fiscal information (page 2655): Fiscal Note No. 4, Department of Education and Early Development Without objection, Fiscal Note No. 4 was adopted. Senator Begich offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, lines 1 - 2: Delete "; and relating to the Alaska higher education investment fund" Page 1, line 10, through page 2, line 12: Delete all material and insert: "* Sec. 2. AS 14.03.127(b) is amended to read: (b) The legislature may appropriate funding for Internet services for schools under this section from the general fund. If insufficient funding is appropriated to provide funding authorized under this section, the state share shall be distributed pro rata to eligible school districts." Senator Begich moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Objections were heard. SB 102 Senator Begich moved and asked unanimous consent to withdraw Amendment No. 1 to SENATE BILL NO. 102 "An Act relating to funding for Internet services for school districts; and relating to the Alaska higher education investment fund." Without objection, Amendment No. 1 was withdrawn. SENATE BILL NO. 102 was automatically in third reading. 2018-04-15 Senate Journal Page 2732 Senator Begich moved and asked unanimous consent to abstain from voting due to a conflict of interest. Objections were heard and Senator Begich was required to vote. The question being: "Shall SENATE BILL NO. 102 "An Act relating to funding for Internet services for school districts; and relating to the Alaska higher education investment fund" pass the Senate?"
