SB 102                                                                                                                        
SENATE BILL NO. 102 "An Act relating to funding for Internet                                                                    
services for school districts; and relating to the Alaska higher                                                                
education investment fund" was read the second time.                                                                            
                                                                                                                                
Updated fiscal information was published today:                                                                                 
 Fiscal Note No. 3, Department of Education and Early                                                                           
  Development                                                                                                                   
                                                                                                                                
President Kelly stated SENATE BILL NO. 102 will advance to third                                                                
reading on the April 14 calendar.                                                                                               
                                                                                                                                
SB 104                                                                                                                        
SENATE BILL NO. 104 "An Act relating to the duties of the state                                                                 
Board of Education and Early Development; and relating to school                                                                
curriculum" was read the second time.                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
Senator MacKinnon, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent                                                                   
for the adoption of the 2d Finance Committee Substitute offered on                                                              
page 2508. Senator Gardner objected, then withdrew her objection.                                                               
There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO.                                                                        
104(2d FIN) "An Act relating to the duties of the Department of                                                                 
Education and Early Development; relating to the duties of the state                                                            
Board of Education and Early Development; relating to school                                                                    
curricula; and relating to a system for managing student information                                                            
and records related to individualized education programs for children                                                           
with disabilities" was adopted.                                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent the bill be                                                                  
considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final                                                             
passage. Without objection, it was so ordered.
