SB 5                                                                                                                          
SENATE BILL NO. 5 "An Act prohibiting groups controlled by a                                                                    
legislator from soliciting and accepting contributions or from making                                                           
certain contributions and expenditures during a regular or special                                                              
legislative session; and prohibiting some lobbyists from making                                                                 
campaign contributions to certain groups" was read the second time.                                                             
                                                                                                                                
Senator Coghill, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the                                                               
adoption of the Judiciary Committee Substitute offered on page 699.                                                             
Senator Gardner objected, then withdrew her objection. There being                                                              
no further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 5(JUD) "An Act                                                                     
prohibiting certain groups from soliciting and accepting contributions                                                          
or from making certain contributions and expenditures during a                                                                  
regular or special legislative session; and prohibiting some lobbyists                                                          
from making campaign contributions to certain groups" was adopted.                                                              
                                                                                                                                
President Kelly stated CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 5(JUD) will                                                                       
advance to third reading on the April 6 calendar.                                                                               
                                                                                                                                
SB 54                                                                                                                         
SENATE BILL NO. 54 "An Act relating to crime and criminal law;                                                                  
relating to violation of condition of release; relating to sex trafficking;                                                     
relating to sentencing; relating to probation; relating to the pretrial                                                         
services program; and providing for an effective date" was read the                                                             
second time.
