Full Journal pdf2018-02-21 House Journal Page 2508 HR 6 The following, which was held from the February 19 calendar (page 2482), was read the second time: HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 6 Urging the United States Department of the Interior to maintain three lease sales in the Chukchi Sea and Beaufort Sea Planning Areas and two lease sales in the Cook Inlet Planning Area and to remove certain potential lease sales. 2018-02-21 House Journal Page 2509 The Rules Committee submitted the following fiscal note: 1. Zero, House Rules Committee Representative Chenault, citing Uniform Rule 35, moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Edgmon be shown as prime sponsor on HR 6. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The bill was reprinted today. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Lincoln: Page 1, following line 7: Insert new material to read: "WHEREAS the ocean areas adjacent to the state are essential for traditional ways of life, subsistence, commercial and recreational fishing, tourism, and other uses; and WHEREAS communities, tribes, and subsistence users have requested that oil and gas leasing be prevented in certain ocean areas adjacent to the state; and" Page 1, following line 11: Insert new material to read: "WHEREAS the involvement of industry, community, and regional leaders has resulted in existing deferral arrangements for developing the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas that are compatible with economic development and subsistence uses; and" Page 2, line 14, following "Areas": Insert ", and areas previously deferred from leasing in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas" Representative Lincoln moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Wilson objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?"
