Amendment No. 53 was offered by Representative Eastman: Page 16, following line 25: Insert new material to read: "It is the intent of the legislature that the majority of abortions performed in the state no longer be funded at taxpayer expense and, toward that end, that the Department of Health and Social Services promote alternatives to abortion." Representative Eastman moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 53 be adopted. There was objection. Representative Spohnholz moved and asked unanimous consent to table Amendment No. 53. Representative Eastman objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 53 be tabled?"
