     Urging the commissioner of education and early development and                                                             
     the state Board of Education and Early Development to delay                                                                
     implementation of statewide education standards.                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
and recommends it be replaced with:                                                                                             
                                                                                                                                
     CS FOR HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 9(EDC)                                                                                         
     Urging the commissioner of education and early development and                                                             
     the state Board of Education and Early Development to evaluate                                                             
     and ensure that, in setting state education performance standards,                                                         
     Alaska's sovereignty is maintained and that the standards of the                                                           
     Common Core State Standards Initiative are not adopted as state                                                            
     education performance standards.
