Senators Kookesh, McGuire were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Coghill. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord God our heavenly Father, who has given us life: I am grateful for the gift of love, when you sent your Son to give me everlasting life. I thank you for delivering me from sin and death through your sacrifice and resurrection from the dead. We have been blessed to live in this beautiful state and we are grateful to serve our people. We need ears to hear; from you, our people and each other, so please help us with our understanding. We often ask for wisdom from above, and we come again for wise guidance, and with that help we also request grace to work that wisdom with a degree of humility.
