Gracious and Loving God; I pray that today each member of this Senate may lead the people of this state with energy, intelligence and imagination. May they attend hearings and debate with the expectation that issues will be clarified and problems will be solved. Distinguish their lives by the mark of integrity. When the debates become heated, grant to each one the capacity to separate the person from the positions they take. May they continue to value each individual and grant to every member dignity and worth. When the votes are counted and an issue has been decided grant to each one the capacity to accept the will of the Senate, even when they were not on the prevailing side. 2007-03-14 Senate Journal Page 0538 May they value their staffs and the people who serve them to make their proceedings orderly.
