Representative Kerttula objected to advancing HB 224 to third reading

HB 224 will advance to third reading on the April 28, 2003, calendar.                               
                                                                                                    
Representative Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that                                       
Representative Cissna be excused from a call of the House from                                      
1:00 p.m. today until morning plane time, April 28, 2003.  There being

 Delete all material.                                                                               
 Insert "* Sec. 2.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is                                  
amended by adding a new section to read:                                                            
 CONTINGENT EFFECT.  Section 1 of this Act takes effect only                                        
if the state has received federal funding for charter school start-up                               
costs that equals or exceeds the funding provided by the state for                                  
charter school start-up costs in fiscal year 2003.  The director of the                             
division of legislative finance shall notify the revisor of statutes when                           
the state receives the federal funding for charter schools as described                             
in this section.
