Creator God, As the men and women of the Alaska State Senate gather after their short break, refreshed in spirit, may they approach their duties with renewed vigor. Grant them wisdom as they take on the many thorny issues of governance. May they always strive to serve the common good. Let them be attentive to the voices of all Alaskans, the articulate and the inarticulate; those with strong voices and those whose voices are weak; those in the mainstream and those on the margins. Grant that our legislators be worthy of the trust placed in them by the people of this state. This we pray. Amen.
