    You would have us behave; and to ultimately die for us, even
    though we fall so far short of Your glory.

    Lord, we meet today to try to do the work of the people who
    elected us; and toward that end, dear God, please make our
    products pleasing to You.  Guide us in our deliberations Lord;
    and while we are about our earthly tasks, keep us ever
    mindful of Your commandment to love our neighbors as
    ourselves. That while opinions may differ, we should express
    them to each other with respect; for each one of us, after all,
    was created uniquely different by You.

    Thank You, Heavenly Father, for this opportunity to
    collectively seek Your guidance in our deliberations this day
    and for the remainder of session. Amen.
