CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 288(L&C) am "An Act relating to                          
procurement preferences and authorizing certain state real property            
lease extensions; and providing for an effective date" was read the            
second time.                                                                   
                                                                               
Senators Taylor, Duncan offered Amendment No. 1 :                               
                                                                               
Page 1, line 4, insert a new bill section to read:                             
	Sec. 1.  AS 19.60.030 is amended by adding two new                            
subsections to read:                                                           
		(b) The department may conduct the following                                 
activities at ferry terminal facilities:                                       
			(1) sell goods and services to the public;                                  
			(2) acquire by purchase, lease, consignment                                 
or other means, vending machines, or other equipment or supplies               
required for the sale of such goods and services;                              
			(3) enter into contracts with others to use,                                
improve, modify, consign, or lease space or equipment for the sale             
of goods and services;                                                         
			(4) establish the terms and conditions and fix                              
reasonable and uniform charges, rentals, and fees to be paid by                
others for the right to use, modify, consign or lease space or                 
equipment for the sale of goods and services.
