01 "An Act relating to schools; and relating to children with disabilities."                                               
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 14.30 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
04 Sec. 14.30.282. Provision of medically necessary services in a school                                                 
05 setting. (a) Each school district shall establish and implement written procedures to                                 
06 allow a child with a disability who has a medical diagnosis and presents a prescription                                 
07 from a qualified health care professional to access medically necessary services in a                                   
08       school setting.                                                                                                   
09            (b)  In this section,                                                                                        
10                 (1)  "health care provider" has the meaning given in AS 08.02.130;                                      
11                 (2)  "qualified health care professional" means a health care provider                                  
12       who is licensed in this state or board certified.
