01 "An Act relating to the membership of the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal                                      
02 Management Areas in Alaska; extending the termination date of the Citizens' Advisory                                    
03 Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska; and providing for an effective                                        
04 date."                                                                                                                  
05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
06    * Section 1. AS 41.37.180 is amended to read:                                                                      
07 Sec. 41.37.180. Qualifications of members. The members of the commission                                              
08 appointed by the governor under AS 41.37.170(c) shall be representative of the                                      
09 diversity of users and uses of federal land in the state, and at least three of the                                 
10 members must represent a corporation organized under 43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.                                         
11 (Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act). The [AND] members of the commission                                      
12 appointed under AS 41.37.170(d) and (e) who are not members of the legislature shall                                    
13       be representative of the diversity of users and uses of federal land in the state.                              
14    * Sec. 2. AS 44.66.010(a)(10) is amended to read:                                                                  

01 (10)  Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in                                                      
02       Alaska (AS 41.37.160) - June 30, 2029 [2021];                                                                 
03    * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                          
04 read:                                                                                                                   
05 CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMISSION ON FEDERAL MANAGEMENT AREAS                                                               
06 IN ALASKA; TRANSITION. The terms of the three members with the earliest expiration                                      
07 dates who fill public seats appointed by the governor on the Citizens' Advisory Commission                              
08 on Federal Management Areas in Alaska under AS 41.37.170(c) and 41.37.180, as those                                     
09 sections read on the day before the effective date of this Act, expire on the effective date of                         
10 sec. 1 of this Act, and the governor shall fill the three vacancies on the Citizens' Advisory                           
11 Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska by appointing three members who                                        
12 represent a corporation organized under 43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq. (Alaska Native Claims                                    
13 Settlement Act), as required by AS 41.37.180, as amended by sec. 1 of this Act.                                         
14    * Sec. 4. Section 2 of this Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
