00                         HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 6                                                                         
01 Establishing a House Special Committee on Ways and Means.                                                               
02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:                                                                         
03       WHEREAS it is urgent that the state government bring its spending and revenue into                              
04 balance to ensure that essential services are provided and to protect the economic stability of                         
05 the state;                                                                                                              
06       BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives that a House Special Committee                                   
07 on Ways and Means is established to                                                                                     
08            (1)  consider methods to control state spending;                                                             
09            (2)  identify ways in which state government programs may be made more                                       
10 efficient; and                                                                                                          
11            (3)  propose new measures to raise additional state revenue; and be it                                       
12       FURTHER RESOLVED that the speaker of the House of Representatives shall                                         
13 determine the number of representatives to be members of the committee and shall appoint                                
14 the members and designate a member to chair the committee; and be it                                                    
15       FURTHER RESOLVED that the House Special Committee on Ways and Means                                             
16 may meet during and between sessions of the Thirty-Second Alaska State Legislature and is                               

01 terminated on the convening of the First Session of the Thirty-Third Alaska State Legislature.
