01 "An Act making appropriations for public education and transportation of students;                                      
02 and providing for an effective date."                                                                                   
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. FUND CAPITALIZATION. (a) The amount necessary to fund the total amount                                
05 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, of state aid calculated under the public school                               
06 funding formula under AS 14.17.410(b), estimated to be $1,193,475,200, is appropriated to                               
07 the public education fund (AS 14.17.300) from the following sources:                                                    
08            (1)  $31,166,700 from the public school trust fund (AS 37.14.110(a));                                        
09            (2)  the amount necessary, after the appropriation made in (1) of this                                       
10 subsection, estimated to be $1,162,308,500, from the general fund.                                                      
11       (b)  The amount necessary to fund transportation of students under AS 14.09.010 for                               
12 the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, estimated to be $71,435,893, is appropriated from the                             
13 general fund to the public education fund (AS 14.17.300).                                                               
14       (c)  The amount necessary to fund the total amount for the fiscal year ending June 30,                            

01 2023, of state aid calculated under the public school funding formula under AS 14.17.410(b)                             
02 is appropriated from the general fund to the public education fund (AS 14.17.300).                                      
03       (d)  The amount necessary to fund transportation of students under AS 14.09.010 for                               
04 the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, is appropriated from the general fund to the public                               
05 education fund (AS 14.17.300).                                                                                          
06    * Sec. 2. LAPSE. The appropriations made in sec. 1 of this Act are for the capitalization of a                     
07 fund and do not lapse.                                                                                                  
08    * Sec. 3. Sections 1(c) and (d) of this Act take effect July 1, 2022.                                              
09    * Sec. 4. Except as provided in sec. 3 of this Act, this Act takes effect July 1, 2021.
