01 "An Act establishing May of each year as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage                                   
02 Month."                                                                                                                 
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05 Sec. 44.12.153. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The                                               
06 month of May each year is established as Asian American and Pacific Islander                                            
07 Heritage Month. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month may be                                               
08 observed by schools, community groups, and other public and private agencies and                                        
09 individuals with appropriate activities to honor and recognize the contributions made                                   
10       by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the history of this state and the United                              
11       States.
