01 "An Act relating to the use of unmanned aircraft systems while hunting."                                                
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 16.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
04            Sec. 16.05.784. Prohibition on the use of unmanned aircraft systems while                                  
05       hunting. (a) A person may not use an unmanned aircraft system to scout for, track, or                           
06       otherwise aid in the hunting and taking of game.                                                                  
07            (b)  A person may not hunt a game bird, game animal, or fur-bearing animal                                   
08       within 48 hours after                                                                                             
09                 (1)  flying an unmanned aircraft system in the area in which the person                                 
10       is hunting; or                                                                                                    
11                 (2)  communicating with another person who, within the same 48-hour                                     
12       period, has flown an unmanned aircraft system in the area in which the person is                                  
13       hunting.                                                                                                          
14            (c)  A person may not have any component of an unmanned aircraft system in                                   
15       the person's possession on a day in which the person is in the field hunting.                                     

01 (d)  A violation of this section is a class A misdemeanor, punishable as                                                
02 provided in AS 12.55. The court may order the forfeiture to the state of an unmanned                                    
03 aircraft system and related equipment used in, or in aid of a violation of (a) or (b) of                                
04       this section, as provided under AS 16.05.195.                                                                     
05            (e)  In this section, "unmanned aircraft system" has the meaning given in                                    
06       AS 18.65.909.
