00 HOUSE BILL NO. 253 01 "An Act relating to the powers of the Department of Transportation and Public 02 Facilities; and relating to the sale, transfer, or disposal of state ferries." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 19.05.040 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 05 (b) Notwithstanding (a) of this section, the department may not sell, transfer, 06 or otherwise dispose of a ferry without first obtaining legislative approval by law. In 07 this subsection, "ferry" has the meaning given in AS 19.65.030(g).
