00 SENATE BILL NO. 11 01 "An Act relating to the taking of antlerless moose; and providing for an effective date." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 16.05.780(a) is amended to read: 04 (a) The taking of antlerless moose in any game management unit or subunit or 05 a portion of a unit or subunit is prohibited except as authorized by emergency order 06 under AS 16.05.060 [THAT ANTLERLESS MOOSE MAY BE TAKEN ONLY 07 UNDER REGULATIONS ADOPTED UNDER (b) OF THIS SECTION AFTER 08 (1) THE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS THE SEASON BE 09 OPENED IN THAT YEAR, BASED ON BIOLOGICAL EVIDENCE, AND 10 (2) A MAJORITY OF ACTIVE LOCAL ADVISORY 11 COMMITTEES FOR THAT UNIT OR SUBUNIT HAVE RECOMMENDED AN 12 OPENING FOR THAT YEAR, AFTER EACH HAS TAKEN A VOTE AND A 13 MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS OF THOSE COMMITTEES HAVE VOTED IN 14 THE AFFIRMATIVE]. 15 * Sec. 2. AS 16.05.780(b) is repealed.
