00 HOUSE BILL NO. 308 01 "An Act prohibiting the Department of Health and Social Services from receiving or 02 expending funds for a grant to or contract with an entity that performs abortions or 03 maintains or operates a facility where abortions are performed." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 18.05.030 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 06 (b) The department may not receive or expend funds for family planning 07 services under 42 U.S.C. 300 - 300a-8 (Title X, Public Health Service Act) to make a 08 grant to or enter into a contract with an entity that performs abortions or maintains or 09 operates a facility where abortions are performed. In this subsection, "abortion" has 10 the meaning given in AS 18.16.090.
