01 "An Act relating to per diem for members of the legislature."                                                           
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 24.10.130(b) is amended to read:                                                                   
04 (b)  Legislators and officers and employees of the legislative branch of                                                
05 government may be entitled to a per diem allowance. A per diem allowance for a                                      
06 legislator may not exceed the applicable per diem allowance rate in effect for                                      
07       state employees in the general government unit.                                                               
08    * Sec. 2. AS 39.23 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                     
09            Sec. 39.23.555. Recommendations relating to allowances. The                                                
10       recommendations of the commission relating to allowances may not include a                                        
11       recommendation that a member of the legislature receive a per diem allowance at a                                 
12       rate greater than the rate allowed under AS 24.10.130(b).
