00 HOUSE BILL NO. 120 01 "An Act relating to the Department of Law public advocacy function to participate in 02 matters that come before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 44.23.020(e) is amended to read: 05 (e) There is established within the Department of Law the function of public 06 advocacy for regulatory affairs. The attorney general shall participate as a party in a 07 matter that comes before the Regulatory Commission of Alaska or the Federal 08 Energy Regulatory Commission when the attorney general determines that 09 participation is in the public interest. When considering whether participation is in the 10 public interest, the attorney general shall consider the issues the Regulatory 11 Commission of Alaska must take into consideration under AS 42.05.141(d).
