00Enrolled HB 114 01 Relating to boiler and unfired pressure vessel inspection reports and fees. 02 _______________ 03 * Section 1. AS 18.60.270 is amended to read: 04 Sec. 18.60.270. Report of inspection; fee. (a) Each company employing a 05 special inspector shall, within 15 [30] days following each inspection for certification 06 as required by AS 18.60.390 for a boiler or unfired pressure vessel, file a report of the 07 inspection with the [DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE 08 DEVELOPMENT UPON FORMS ADOPTED BY THE] department. 09 (b) In addition, a special inspector shall file with the department a report of an 10 inspection that discloses a condition dangerous to life or property in a boiler or unfired 11 pressure vessel. The special inspector shall file the report within 15 days following 12 the inspection. 13 * Sec. 2. AS 18.60.270 is amended by adding new subsections to read: 14 (c) A company or special inspector who files a report under this section shall 15 enter the report directly into the department's electronic inspection report system or

01 submit the report to the department on a form provided by the department. The 02 department shall charge a company or special inspector a fee of $10 for filing a report 03 if the company or special inspector does not file the report by entering the report 04 directly into the department's electronic inspection report system. 05 (d) The department shall deposit the fees collected under (c) of this section in 06 the building safety account created under AS 44.31.025. 07 (e) In this section, "department" means the Department of Labor and 08 Workforce Development. 09 * Sec. 3. AS 18.60.360 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 10 (d) In this section, "fee" does not include the filing fee charged under 11 AS 18.60.270(c). 12 * Sec. 4. AS 37.05.146(c)(53) is amended to read: 13 (53) receipts of fees for certain inspections deposited under 14 AS 05.20.060, AS 18.60.360, 18.60.395, 18.60.800, and AS 18.62.030 in the building 15 safety account created under AS 44.31.025, and receipts of filing fees deposited 16 under AS 18.60.270(d) in the building safety account created under AS 44.31.025; 17 * Sec. 5. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 18 read: 19 APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to inspections begun on or after the effective date 20 of this Act.
