00 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 19 01 Proposing an amendment to the Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature relating 02 to establishing as a standing committee the Ways and Means Committee. 03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. Rule 20(a), Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature, is amended to read: 05 (a) Each house has the following standing committees with the jurisdiction 06 indicated: 07 Education (the programs and activities of the Department of Education and 08 Early Development and of the University of Alaska) 09 Finance (all appropriation, revenue, capital improvement, and bonding 10 measures, the executive budget, and the programs and activities of the Department of 11 Revenue) 12 Health and Social Services (the programs and activities of the Department of 13 Health and Social Services) 14 Judiciary (the programs and activities of the Alaska Court System and the 15 Department of Law, and the legal and substantive review of bills referred to it for that 16 purpose)

01 Labor and Commerce (the programs and activities of the Department of Labor 02 and Workforce Development relating to labor-management relations, industrial safety, 03 unemployment compensation, and workers' compensation and the programs and 04 activities of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development 05 that do not primarily relate to local government or to government services or functions 06 in the unorganized borough) 07 Community and Regional Affairs (the programs and activities of the 08 Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development that primarily 09 relate to local government and government services or functions in the unorganized 10 borough, and other matters relating to political subdivisions) 11 Resources (the programs and activities of the Departments of Fish and Game, 12 Natural Resources, and Environmental Conservation) 13 Rules (interpretation of the Uniform Rules, calendar, the internal 14 administration of the house and matters pertaining to the management of the 15 legislature as a whole) 16 State Affairs (programs and activities of the Office of the Governor and the 17 Departments of Administration, Military and Veterans' Affairs, Corrections, and 18 Public Safety, and programs and activities of the Department of Transportation and 19 Public Facilities relating to public facilities) 20 Transportation (programs and activities of the Department of Transportation 21 and Public Facilities relating to transportation and other legislative matters relating to 22 transportation) 23 Ways and Means (consideration of methods to control state spending, 24 identify ways to make government programs more efficient, and review measures 25 that raise state revenue).
