00 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 154(STA) 01 "An Act relating to special registration plates commemorating the Blood Bank of 02 Alaska." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 28.10.181 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 05 (ii) Special request plates commemorating the Blood Bank of Alaska. Upon 06 application by the owner of a motor vehicle, the department may issue registration 07 plates commemorating the Blood Bank of Alaska. The commissioner, after consulting 08 with representatives of the Blood Bank of Alaska, shall determine the design and color 09 of the plates. The department may disapprove the issuance of registration plates under 10 this subsection when the requested plates are a duplication of an existing registration. 11 * Sec. 2. AS 28.10.421(d) is amended by adding a new paragraph to read: 12 (25) special request Blood Bank of Alaska plates........................... $50 13 plus the fee required for that vehicle under (b), (c), (h), or (i) of this section; the fee 14 required by this paragraph shall be collected biennially in the same manner as the fee
01 required under (b), (c), (h), or (i) of this section; the commissioner of administration 02 shall separately account for the fees received under this paragraph that the department 03 deposits in the general fund; notwithstanding (g) of this section, the annual estimated 04 balance in the account that is in excess of the cost of issuing special request plates may 05 be appropriated by the legislature to the Blood Bank of Alaska.
