00 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 101 01 Authorizing a recess by the House of Representatives or Senate for a period of more 02 than three days. 03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 WHEREAS the legislature was called into the First Special Session of the Twenty- 05 Ninth Alaska State Legislature on April 27, 2015, by the Governor; and 06 WHEREAS, during the next few weeks, the finance committees of each house will be 07 conducting extensive hearings on the state operating and capital budgets and other subjects 08 included in the Governor's proclamation; and 09 WHEREAS, during the periods the finance committees of each house are conducting 10 hearings, the presence of the full membership of the Senate or House of Representatives is not 11 required and daily floor sessions will take time away from careful consideration by the 12 committees of the subjects included in the Governor's April 27, 2015, proclamation; and 13 WHEREAS art. II, sec. 10, Constitution of the State of Alaska, provides that neither 14 house may adjourn or recess for longer than three days unless the other house concurs; and 15 WHEREAS Rule 52, Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature, provides that 16 adoption of a concurrent resolution by a majority vote of the full membership of each house

01 constitutes concurrence; 02 BE IT RESOLVED by the Alaska State Legislature that the Senate or the House of 03 Representatives may be in recess for more than three days during the First Special Session of 04 the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature called by the Governor on April 27, 2015, and that 05 each house concurs in this recess; and be it 06 FURTHER RESOLVED by the Alaska State Legislature that the finance committees 07 of each house continue to meet on the subjects in the Governor's April 27, 2015, proclamation 08 during a recess of both houses of the legislature until May 12, 2015.
