HCR 14: Urging the Governor to designate a location for a special session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, if called after adjournment of the First Regular Session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, that is in a community on the state's road system.

00 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 14 01 Urging the Governor to designate a location for a special session of the Twenty-Ninth 02 Alaska State Legislature, if called after adjournment of the First Regular Session of the 03 Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, that is in a community on the state's road 04 system. 05 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 06 WHEREAS there is a strong possibility of a special session following adjournment of 07 the First Regular Session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature; and 08 WHEREAS structural and seismic retrofitting and other life and safety repairs are 09 ongoing at the capitol in Juneau; and 10 WHEREAS the majority of the state's population, along with the majority of 11 legislators and staff, resides along the road system; 12 BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature supports a location for a special 13 session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, if called after adjournment of the First 14 Regular Session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, that is the least costly and 15 most accessible location; and be it

01 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature urges the Governor to 02 designate a location for a special session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State Legislature, if 03 called after the adjournment of the First Regular Session of the Twenty-Ninth Alaska State 04 Legislature, that is in a community on the state's road system with safe and adequate facilities 05 to accommodate a special legislative session of up to 30 days.
