01 "An Act establishing August 10 of each year as Alaska Wild Salmon Day."                                                 
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
04            Sec. 44.12.121. Alaska Wild Salmon Day. (a)  Alaska Wild Salmon Day is                                     
05       established on August 10 of each year to celebrate the enormous bounty that the                                   
06       following wild salmon bring to the state every year:                                                              
07                 (1)  chinook, also known as "king";                                                                     
08                 (2)  sockeye, also known as "red";                                                                      
09                 (3)  coho, also known as "silver";                                                                      
10                 (4)  chum, also known as "dog" or "keta"; and                                                           
11                 (5)  pink, also known as "humpy."                                                                       
12            (b)  Alaska Wild Salmon Day may be observed by educational and celebratory                                   
13       events, projects, and activities.
