01 "An Act relating to a limitation on state statutes and regulations."                                                    
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.62.020 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
04            (b)  Notwithstanding another provision of law, a state agency may not adopt,                                 
05       administer, or enforce a regulation that sets a standard that exceeds a corresponding                             
06       standard in a regulation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.                                    
07    * Sec. 2. AS 46.03 is amended by adding a new section to article 1 to read:                                        
08            Sec. 46.03.015. Limitation on statutes establishing standards that exceed                                  
09       corresponding standards in federal Environmental Protection Agency                                              
10       regulations. Notwithstanding another provision of law, a statute may not be construed                           
11       to require implementation of or establish a standard that exceeds a corresponding                                 
12       standard in a regulation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
