The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 04 to read: 05 LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS. To be an Alaskan during the period 1930 to 1963 meant 06 carrying the "rifleman's rifle," the Winchester pre-1964 Model 70. This was the bolt-action 07 rifle that helped Alaska men and women establish a firm foothold in the untamed and often 08 wild Alaska wilderness. Because of the historical significance of the Winchester pre-1964 09 Model 70, the legislature selects the Winchester pre-1964 Model 70 as the official state bolt- 10 action rifle. 11 * Sec. 2.
