00 SENATE BILL NO. 147 01 "An Act increasing and providing an inflation adjustment to the base student allocation 02 used in the formula for state funding of public education; and providing for an effective 03 date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 14.17.470 is amended to read: 06 Sec. 14.17.470. Base student allocation. The base student allocation is $6,084 07 [$5,680]. 08 * Sec. 2. AS 14.17.470 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 09 (b) The department shall annually adjust the base student allocation to reflect 10 the change in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers for the Anchorage 11 metropolitan area compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States 12 Department of Labor. The index for the first half of 2013 is the reference base index. 13 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect July 1, 2014.
