01 "An Act establishing May 15 each year as Think Local Day; and providing for an                                          
02 effective date."                                                                                                        
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
05            Sec. 44.12.132. Think Local Day. Think Local Day is established on May 15                                  
06       each year to support local businesses and local products and to recognize the economic                            
07       and social benefits that local businesses and local products provide to communities                               
08       throughout the state. Think Local Day may be observed by celebratory events,                                      
09       projects, and activities directed at or involving people of all ages to increase their                            
10       awareness and use of local businesses, food, and products.                                                        
11    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
