00 HOUSE BILL NO. 100 01 "An Act relating to the geographic cost-of-living adjustment to the salaries of supreme 02 court justices, superior court judges, and district court judges; and providing for an 03 effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 22.05.140(c) is amended to read: 06 (c) In addition to the monthly salary, each justice is entitled to receive a 07 geographic cost-of-living adjustment on $100,000 of the justice's base salary 08 [UNDER AS 22.35.010,] based on the location of the primary office assignment. The 09 adjustment shall be equal to the cost-of-living adjustment received by other 10 employees of the judicial branch who are not justices or judges at the assigned 11 office. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only on the monthly 12 base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 13 * Sec. 2. AS 22.10.190(c) is amended to read: 14 (c) In addition to the monthly salary, each superior court judge is entitled to

01 receive a geographic cost-of-living adjustment on $100,000 of the judge's base 02 salary [UNDER AS 22.35.010,] based on the location of the primary office 03 assignment. The adjustment shall be equal to the cost-of-living adjustment 04 received by other employees of the judicial branch who are not justices or judges 05 at the assigned office. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only 06 on the monthly base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 07 * Sec. 3. AS 22.15.220(d) is amended to read: 08 (d) In addition to the monthly salary, each district court judge is entitled to 09 receive a geographic cost-of-living adjustment on $100,000 of the judge's base 10 salary [UNDER AS 22.35.010,] based on the location of the primary office 11 assignment. The adjustment shall be equal to the cost-of-living adjustment 12 received by other employees of the judicial branch who are not justices or judges 13 at the assigned office. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only 14 on the monthly base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 15 * Sec. 4. AS 22.35.010 is repealed. 16 * Sec. 5. This Act takes effect July 1, 2013.
