00 SENATE BILL NO. 168 01 "An Act relating to geographic cost-of-living salary adjustments for justices of the 02 supreme court and judges of the superior and district courts; and providing for an 03 effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 22.05.140(c) is amended to read: 06 (c) In addition to the monthly salary, each justice is entitled to receive a 07 geographic cost-of-living adjustment equal to the pay step differentials set out in 08 AS 39.27.020 [UNDER AS 22.35.010], based on the location of the primary office 09 assignment. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only on the 10 monthly base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 11 * Sec. 2. AS 22.10.190(c) is amended to read: 12 (c) In addition to the monthly salary, each superior court judge is entitled to 13 receive a geographic cost-of-living adjustment equal to the pay step differentials set 14 out in AS 39.27.020 [UNDER AS 22.35.010], based on the location of the primary

01 office assignment. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only on 02 the monthly base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 03 * Sec. 3. AS 22.15.220(d) is amended to read: 04 (d) In addition to the monthly salary, each district court judge is entitled to 05 receive a geographic cost-of-living adjustment equal to the pay step differentials set 06 out in AS 39.27.020 [UNDER AS 22.35.010], based on the location of the primary 07 office assignment. Retirement contributions and benefits shall be computed only on 08 the monthly base salary not including the geographic cost-of-living adjustment. 09 * Sec. 4. AS 22.35.010 is repealed. 10 * Sec. 5. This Act takes effect July 1, 2012.
