00 HOUSE BILL NO. 270 01 "An Act requiring the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities to require 02 airports to post warning signs outside of security screening areas warning passengers 03 that they are subject to searches of their bodies by physical touching and by electronic 04 devices that emit radiation." 05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 06 * Section 1. AS 02.15.050 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 07 (h) The department shall require each airport where screening of passengers 08 and property is actively being conducted as authorized by 49 U.S.C. 44901 to post a 09 warning sign that measures at least 11 inches by 14 inches within 30 feet of the 10 entrance to the passenger screening area. The sign must read as follows: 11 PASSENGER WARNING 12 Each passenger entering this security screening area is subject to a 13 physical search of the passenger's body by another person who may 14 touch the passenger in a way that some passengers may find offensive

01 and is also subject to a search by an electronic device that emits 02 radiation used to produce an electronic image of the passenger that 03 exposes or reveals physical characteristics of a person that are normally 04 hidden by clothing and not normally visible to the public view.
