01 "An Act relating to requirements for persons holding provisional drivers' licenses."                                    
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 28.15.055 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
04            (b)  A person holding a provisional driver's license shall display in the rear                               
05       window of each vehicle operated by the person a sticker issued by the department that                             
06       identifies that the vehicle is operated by a provisional licensee. The department may                             
07       charge a fee for the issuance of a sticker. Failure to display a sticker as required by this                      
08       subsection is an infraction and may be punished by a fine of not more than $300.                                  
09       However, a person charged with violating this section may not be convicted if the                                 
10       person                                                                                                            
11                 (1)  has not previously been arrested, charged, or cited for a violation of                             
12       this section; and                                                                                                 
13                 (2)  produces in court proof that the person has obtained and affixed the                               
14       sticker required by this subsection.
