00 HOUSE BILL NO. 182 01 "An Act relating to distribution of annual reports by state agencies." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 04 to read: 05 SHORT TITLE. This Act may be known as the Paperwork Reduction Act. 06 * Sec. 2. AS 44.99 is amended by adding new sections to read: 07 Article 3A. Distribution of Annual Reports. 08 Sec. 44.99.360. Electronic distribution. (a) A state agency required by statute 09 to produce and distribute an annual report shall, if the agency has the technological 10 capability to do so, provide copies electronically and post the annual report on the 11 agency's Internet website in a manner accessible to the public. An agency may not 12 produce print copies of annual reports unless requested under AS 44.99.370. 13 (b) Notwithstanding conflicting provisions of law, electronic distribution and 14 electronic posting on a state agency's Internet website fulfills any obligation in law to 15 publish, prepare, present, or submit an annual report.
01 Sec. 44.99.370. Print copy requests. A person may order printed copies of an 02 annual report from a state agency under AS 40.25.100 - 40.25.295. Appropriate 03 printing or copying fees shall be determined under AS 40.25.110. A state agency may 04 reduce or waive a fee when the state agency determines that the reduction or waiver is 05 in the public interest. 06 Sec. 44.99.390. Definition. In sections 44.99.360 - 44.99.390, "state agency" 07 means a department, institution, board, commission, division, authority, public 08 corporation, committee, or other administrative unit of the executive branch of state 09 government, including the University of Alaska and the Alaska Railroad Corporation.
