01 "An Act making failure by certain persons to wear a safety belt when operating certain                                  
02 motor vehicles a secondary violation."                                                                                  
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 28.05.095(e) is amended to read:                                                                   
05            (e)  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a peace officer may not stop                                
06       or detain a motor vehicle to determine compliance with (a) of this section, or issue a                            
07       citation for a violation of (a) of this section, unless the peace officer has probable                            
08       cause to stop or detain the motor vehicle other than for a violation of (a) of this                           
09       section.                                                                                                      
10    * Sec. 2. AS 28.05.095(f) is repealed.
