00 SENATE CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 9(TRA) 01 Designating the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum located at 4721 Aircraft Drive in 02 Anchorage as the official headquarters for the State of Alaska's Centennial of Flight 03 Celebration. 04 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 WHEREAS the first flight in the state took place in the summer of 1913 in a Fourth 06 of July exhibition in Fairbanks; and 07 WHEREAS the State of Alaska will celebrate 100 years of powered flight 08 on July 4, 2013; and 09 WHEREAS the pioneering and development of flight operations in Alaska is 10 directly tied to the development and growth of the overall infrastructure within 11 the State of Alaska; and 12 WHEREAS aviation within the State of Alaska has served to interconnect 13 the diverse topographies and peoples of the state and has fostered a truly 14 pioneering Alaska spirit; 15 BE IT RESOLVED by the Alaska State Legislature that the Alaska

01 Aviation Heritage Museum be designated the official headquarters for the State 02 of Alaska's Centennial of Flight Celebration and preparations in the year 2013. 03 COPIES of this resolution shall be sent to the Honorable Barack Obama, President of 04 the United States; the Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Vice-President of the United States and 05 President of the U.S. Senate; and the Honorable Lisa Murkowski and the Honorable Mark 06 Begich, U.S. Senators, and the Honorable Don Young, U.S. Representative, members of the 07 Alaska delegation in Congress.
