01 "An Act relating to the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy."                                                                
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 14.30.740 is repealed and reenacted to read:                                                       
04            Sec. 14.30.740. Funding and report for Alaska Challenge Youth Academy                                      
05       program. (a) Each fiscal year, the department shall allocate funding for the Alaska                             
06       Challenge Youth Academy program in an amount equal to $11,990 multiplied by the                                   
07       number of residential and nonresidential students enrolled in the academy full time.                              
08            (b)  The Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs shall provide an annual                                
09       report to the department that specifies the number of residential and nonresidential                              
10       students enrolled in the academy full time on October 1 of the prior year.                                        
11            (c)  In this section,                                                                                        
12                 (1)  "nonresidential student" means a student who receives services but                                 
13       does not reside at the program site;                                                                              
14                 (2)  "program" means the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy program;                                        
15                 (3)  "residential student" means a student who resides at the program
