01 "An Act relating to public use of unregulated water systems."                                                           
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 46.15 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
04            Sec. 46.15.032. Unregulated public water systems. (a) The department may                                   
05       not prohibit the consumption or use of water from a public water system that has a                                
06       notice posted conspicuously at all watering points warning that                                                   
07                 (1)  the water system is not regulated by the department;                                               
08                 (2)  water from the system may not meet minimum drinking water                                          
09       standards established by the department under AS 46.03.020(10)(C); and                                            
10                 (3)  any person consuming or using the water from the water system                                      
11       does so at the person's own risk.                                                                                 
12            (b)  In this section,                                                                                        
13                 (1)  "public water system" means a system for the provision to the                                      
14       public of water for human use or consumption; and                                                                 
15                 (2)  "watering point" means a common tap from which a community                                         

01       may obtain water.
