00 SENATE BILL NO. 257 01 "An Act relating to distribution of the Alaska Administrative Code and Alaska 02 Administrative Register; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 44.62.140 is amended to read: 05 Sec. 44.62.140. Distribution of code and register. Except as provided in 06 this section, the [THE] lieutenant governor shall supply a complete set of the Alaska 07 Administrative Code, and of the Alaska Administrative Register, and of each 08 supplement to the code or register to the clerk of each local government unit, or if the 09 authority to accept filings is delegated, to the person to whom this authority is 10 delegated. A local government unit may decide to be excluded from the 11 distribution requirements of this subsection. After receiving notice from the 12 local government unit of the unit's decision to be excluded, the lieutenant 13 governor shall exclude that local government unit from the distribution 14 requirements of this subsection.
01 * Sec. 2. AS 44.62.140 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 02 (b) A local government unit that requests to be excluded from the 03 distribution requirements of (a) of this section may request to start receiving 04 distributions as described under (a) of this section, by providing written notice to the 05 lieutenant governor. No later than July 1 of the fiscal year following receipt of notice 06 by the lieutenant governor, the lieutenant governor shall include the local 07 government unit in the distribution. 08 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect July 1, 2008.
