00 SENATE BILL NO. 190 01 "An Act requiring minors 13 through 17 years of age who are not traveling 02 accompanied by a parent or guardian to present identification and to have authorization 03 from a parent or guardian before receiving a ticket from an airline employee." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 02.40 is amended by adding a new section to read: 06 Sec. 02.40.035. Travel by unaccompanied minors. (a) Before receiving a 07 ticket from an airline employee to board an airplane departing from an airport located 08 in this state, a state resident not younger than 13 years of age and not older than 17 09 years of age who is not traveling with the person's parent or guardian shall present 10 (1) photo identification; and 11 (2) written authorization approving the airline travel from a parent or 12 guardian. 13 (b) A person traveling on the return portion of a round trip flight into the state 14 is exempt from the requirements listed in (a) of this section.
