01 "An Act making a special appropriation for a public opinion poll regarding a                                            
02 constitutional amendment concerning benefits for same-sex partners; and providing for                                   
03 an effective date."                                                                                                     
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  The sum of $12,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Office of the                        
06 Governor for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, for the purpose of obtaining a statewide                             
07 public opinion poll asking whether a constitutional amendment should be enacted addressing                              
08 the issue of granting state benefits to same-sex partners.                                                              
09    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
