01 "An Act relating to an energy subsidy for public schools."                                                              
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                          
04 to read:                                                                                                                
05       ENERGY SUBSIDY FOR SCHOOLS. In addition to state aid provided under                                               
06 AS 14.17, the state shall pay an energy subsidy of 50 percent of the cost paid for energy for                           
07 the operation of a public school for fiscal years 2007 through 2009 to each public school that                          
08 submits an energy bill for each of those years in a form acceptable to the Department of                                
09 Education and Early Development.
