02 solicit, accept, or receive under the Legislative Ethics Act; and providing for an effective date.

04    * Section 1. AS 24.60.075(c) is amended to read:                                                                   
05            (c)  [A LEGISLATOR OR LEGISLATIVE EMPLOYEE MAY NOT                                                           
06       SOLICIT, ACCEPT, OR RECEIVE, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY,                                                              
07       COMPASSIONATE GIFTS WORTH LESS THAN $250 THAT IN A CALENDAR                                                       
08       YEAR AGGREGATE TO $250 OR MORE IN VALUE AND ARE FROM THE                                                          
09       SAME PERSON.] A legislator or legislative employee who receives a compassionate                                   
10       gift, directly or indirectly, shall disclose to the committee the name of the gift's source                       
11       and the value of the gift within 30 days after receipt.                                                           
12    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
