01 "An Act relating to interfering with or obstructing a peace officer's performance of                                    
02 official duties."                                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 11.56 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 11.56.703. Interfering with or obstructing a peace officer's                                          
06       performance of official duties. (a)  A person commits the crime of interfering with or                          
07       obstructing a peace officer's performance of official duties if, by using or threatening                          
08       to use violence, force, physical interference, or an obstacle, the person, under                                  
09       circumstances not proscribed under AS 11.56.700, 11.56.300 - 11.56.340, or                                        
10       AS 28.35.182, knowingly obstructs, impairs, or hinders a peace officer in the lawful                              
11       performance of the officer's duties.                                                                              
12            (b)  Interfering with or obstructing a peace officer's performance of official                               
13       duties is a class B misdemeanor.
