00 HOUSE BILL NO. 251 01 "An Act relating to the use of credited military service by retired peace officers and fire 02 fighters to meet certain requirements for major medical insurance coverage benefits." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 39.35.340(d) is amended to read: 05 (d) The credited service granted under this section may not be used to satisfy 06 the credited service requirements for normal retirement. However, a member who 07 retires as a peace officer or fire fighter may use five or fewer years of credited 08 service granted under this section in computing years of credited service under 09 AS 39.35.535(c).
